From the Student Chapter Chair:
After starting up in March 2004 by Luiz Kruel the UCF SIGGRAPH Student Chapter has continued to serve the students around Orlando and in the University of Central Florida School of Film and Digital Media. ACM SIGGRAPH is the largest computer graphics organization in the world. Its name is synonymous with Digital Media and it continues to bring industry professionals together in showing the amazing advancements in the technology we currently use to bring what's in our minds and unique imaginations to life in the art of computer graphics.
I strongly believe that while attaining the education in this field it is important for the future riggers, animators, modelers, and lighting artists to be apart of the ACM SIGGRAPH membership community and what it offers to further their knowledge on this constantly growing industry. The Student Chapter's mission has and will always be to enhance students' educational and social life by providing assistance in networking with fellow students and professionals that share similar interests.
My goal as the new student chair is to expand on what Luiz has achieved and reach out to more students and make the ACM SIGGRAPH range wider not only to students of the field, but anyone interested in computer graphics and animation. As well as help students learn more about the industry so they can secure the job they want and do what they love as a career.
We welcome new members at all times. You can refer to the UCF ACM SIGGRAPH Student Chapter Website, www.ucfsiggraph.org for more information on how to join.
